Work toward resolution even after your case has entered the court system.

Post-filing mediation occurs after a court case has been filed—whether voluntarily or as part of a court order. In most Florida family law cases, mediation is required before a judge will schedule a final hearing or trial. Under Florida Family Law Rule of Procedure 12.740 and local administrative orders, parties are expected to mediate disputes related to custody, property division, and other contested matters.

This type of mediation can occur:

During an ongoing divorce or paternity proceeding

As part of a court order requiring mediation

To settle remaining issues prior to trial

At this stage, emotions can run high and stakes may be significant. Our mediators are experienced in handling complex and high-conflict family dynamics. We work to refocus the parties on practical solutions, reduce litigation expenses, and move the case forward—ideally toward full or partial settlement.
